Who's Watching Who?
Bald Eagle 50 feet in the treetops just above our heads
Home Lake, Montrose, CO

By Evergreen, Colorado Artist Barb Adkins

This wonderful Bald Eagle sat in the Aspens about 50 feet from us, just above our heads, quite content to watch us take his picture. He seemed so serene, calmly posing to show off to us. I wondered what he was thinking, as he watched us taking picture after picture of him. There were other Eagles fighting over the fish in the lake, sitting on the ice pack, watching for fish in the lake, or off in trees farther away.

My painting helps us remember what a surprise and enjoyable experience it was that spring day. Other Eagles were dipping and snatching fish from each other as they caught lunch from the Home Lake. These Eagles come South to Colorado to winter and fly North in the spring to nest. We had originally gone to Montrose to see the Spring Migration of the thousands of Sand Hill Cranes. Keep your eyes open, one never knows what you will see.

Tom has created a Miniature Sculpture and stand for this beautiful Serenity Eagle to pose awhile longer and watch what happens where ever he goes.

Tom uses Black Walnut to create each of these because it is the color of an eagle's wings and body feathers.

I wanted the necklace to remember that special day. Tom has since sculpted a miniature Serenity Eagle Necklace in relief on branches in an Aspen leaf with matching earrings. He has also sculpted an Eagle in a slightly larger rectangle sitting on Aspen Branches.
Eagle jewelry may be custom ordered. Please email or call us.
