You Can't Catch Me!
By Evergreen, Colorado Artist Barb Adkins

The Kit Fox and the Magpie in our neighborhood play their daily game, "Catch me if you can."

As you are on your evening walk up a steep neighborhood road, you catch the glimpse of life in Evergreen at the end of the day.
Wild daisies scattered along the road side, early summer greenery from the rains, shadows of the tall aspens, and scattered clouds out beyond the ridge against the beautiful blue Colorado sky. Not quite sunset yet.

The Kit fox is crouched and ready to spring. "I am going to get you this time!"

Mr. Magpie temping him to try, just off out of his range, ready to take off at the last minute.

"Darn, Almost! Well, we'll try again tomorrow."

Because this is a such a sweet game with a baby kit fox learning his trade,I feel this painting has the feeling of young innocence.

The .75" edge of this painting is painted as a Gallery Edge. It is painted to match the picture. It is framed in as a silhouette frame that will show off the Gallery edge painting. I like to paint the edges as part of the picture to give you a choice of how to hang it. When you are coming into a room or down a hall, the effect is to give a color visual of something to see that is different or unexpected, rather than the regular edge of wood frame.
